On March 11, the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center campus hosted the annual “Light Up the Night” event. Over 100 vehicles from more than 70 organizations gathered to create a display of lights intended to uplift patients and families at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

The night featured flashing lights from law enforcement, emergency medical services, and fire agencies across central Pennsylvania. Participants included towing companies, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Derry Township Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and Penn State Health Life Lion.

“Light Up the Night” is in its fourth year and demonstrates local and regional agencies’ commitment to community support. The event not only provided a visual spectacle but also encouraged unity among first responders and the community.

Participants distributed giveaways such as coloring books, notepads, and stickers to bring joy to young patients. These gifts aimed to provide comfort during their hospital stay.

The event highlights the dedication of first responders and community organizations in positively impacting those facing challenging times.
