Penn State Health’s Labor and Delivery units in central Pennsylvania marked the start of 2026 by announcing the birth of their first baby of the year.

At Hampden Medical Center, Khaza Roque-Dykes was born at 12:51 a.m. on January 1 to parents Drew Roque and Mark Dykes from Harrisburg. The newborn weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long.

Penn State Health stated that updates will follow as more information and photos about other babies born across its facilities become available.
