U.S. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman have introduced a bipartisan resolution, S. Res. 288, to address the rise in antisemitic violence across the United States. The resolution was announced on June 18, 2025, in Washington D.C., with support from 34 other senators.
Senator McCormick emphasized the urgency of tackling antisemitism: “Antisemitism has no place is America,” he stated. He highlighted recent violent incidents as a call to action for protecting Jewish communities nationwide.
Senator Fetterman echoed these sentiments, citing several recent attacks as reminders of the need for vigilance against hate: “Amid a despicable rise in antisemitism… we are starkly reminded that silence is complicity.”
The resolution is co-sponsored by a diverse group of senators from both parties, including Michael Bennet, Marsha Blackburn, Richard Blumenthal, and many others.
In parallel to this Senate effort, Congressman Jeff Van Drew has introduced a companion resolution in the House of Representatives. He stressed the importance of congressional leadership in combating antisemitism: “This resolution sends a clear message… The United States will not tolerate the rise in violent antisemitism we are seeing across the country.”
Both legislative bodies aim to send a strong message against antisemitic acts and stand united against such hatred.
