Sen. Kim Ward, Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader, addressed several public awareness topics in a series of posts on her official Twitter account in early December 2025.
On December 3, Ward highlighted the importance of accessibility and inclusion for individuals with disabilities, marking an international observance: ” International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a reminder of the importance of accessibility, inclusion and support for people of all abilities across our commonwealth.”
The following day, she acknowledged the emotional challenges that can arise during the holiday season, particularly for veterans. In her December 4 post, she stated: ” Holidays can be difficult. If you or a veteran you know needs help, the Veterans Crisis Line is available 24/7. Call 988 +1. You’re not alone.” The Veterans Crisis Line provides confidential support to veterans and their families at any time.
Later on December 4, Ward drew attention to Pennsylvania’s environmental resources on Wildlife Conservation Day: ” Pennsylvania is home to diverse wildlife and natural lands. On Wildlife Conservation Day, we recognize efforts to preserve our forests, streams and habitats for future generations.” Pennsylvania’s state government oversees conservation programs aimed at protecting local wildlife and natural areas.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed globally each year on December 3 to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society. The Veterans Crisis Line (dial 988 then press 1) is operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as part of ongoing mental health outreach initiatives for service members and their families. Wildlife Conservation Day is recognized internationally on December 4 to encourage protection of biodiversity and habitats.
