Sen. Kim Ward, President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania Senate, highlighted state pride and recent legislative action in a series of tweets posted on July 20 and July 21, 2025.
On July 20, Sen. Ward acknowledged Pennsylvania’s heritage and people by stating, “Happy National Pennsylvania Day! From our small towns to big cities, rich history to hardworking people — there’s so much to celebrate about the Keystone State. It’s an honor to serve the people of Pennsylvania. https://t.co/oswX0Bq2zm”
The following day, she addressed workforce challenges in accounting: “PA has a shortage of Certified Public Accountants, so we passed a new law providing an alternative pathway to CPA licensure. It reduces financial and time burdens on aspiring accountants while maintaining standards. Read more: https://t.co/Wp7vUi8ral https://t.co/ZXzGfNxTua” (July 21). The newly enacted law aims to address the shortage of Certified Public Accountants in Pennsylvania by creating additional routes for licensure that preserve professional standards while lessening barriers for prospective CPAs.
