On May 21, 2025, Senator Ward announced an increased investment of $2.4 billion by USS/Nippon to modernize Mon Valley Works. This initiative is projected to protect and create a total of 25,500 jobs in Pennsylvania, encompassing over 11,000 ongoing industry jobs and more than 10,200 construction jobs.
