On December 10, 2025, Ward highlighted the festive atmosphere at the state Capitol by posting: “Christmas magic is alive and bright at the Capitol!

Sen. Kim Ward has served as President Pro Tempore since November 2022 and represents Pennsylvania’s 39th Senatorial District. The annual display of a large Christmas tree at the Capitol is a longstanding tradition in Harrisburg. Legislative oversight regarding public spending is part of the checks and balances within Pennsylvania’s government structure. Additionally, state-funded grants are regularly made available to organizations supporting veterans’ needs across areas such as mental health and employment.
