Sen. Kim Ward, a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, posted several messages on her official X (formerly Twitter) account on October 12 and 13, 2025, recognizing important events and expressing gratitude to various groups in her state and across the nation.
On October 12, Sen. Ward marked National Farmer’s Day by thanking agricultural workers in Pennsylvania. In her post she stated: ” Happy National Farmer’s Day! We celebrate and honor the hardworking men and women who keep Pennsylvania growing — from our dairy farms to our orchards and everything in between. Thank you for feeding our families and fueling our communities. “
Later that day, she highlighted Fort Ligonier Days, a local festival commemorating a significant event in American history. She wrote: ” Did you know Fort Ligonier Days celebrates a key battle of the French & Indian War — fought on October 12, 1758? Today the festival honors that past with reenactments, crafts, music, a parade & community spirit. “ The Battle of Fort Ligonier was an important engagement during the French and Indian War. The annual festival draws visitors to Westmoreland County to participate in historical reenactments and community events.
On October 13, Sen. Ward acknowledged another milestone by celebrating the anniversary of a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces: “️ Today we celebrate the U.S. Navy’s 250th Birthday — honoring the brave men and women who have defended our nation’s freedom across the seas for generations. Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve with courage, honor and commitment.” The United States Navy was officially established on October 13, 1775.
Sen. Kim Ward has represented Westmoreland County in Harrisburg since first being elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 2008.
