Senator Dave McCormick, U.S. Senator representing Pennsylvania, recently addressed several issues in a series of posts on his Twitter account.
On January 3, 2026, McCormick criticized reported fraud in government spending, referencing a major national publication: “Even the @washingtonpost is calling out the billions in fraud happening in what they label “Walz’s boondoggle.” And they report up to $31 billion being lost in Medicaid nationally just last year. The people defending this corruption are the same people who cried wolf when we made”.
The following day, January 4, 2026, he highlighted concerns over synthetic drugs and ongoing efforts to address them: “The New York Times has it right — the synthetic drug crisis is pervasive in PA and across America. This is why I’m leading the charge not only on combatting fentanyl, but also the threat of nitazenes BEFORE they become the next crisis.”
On January 5, 2026, McCormick commented on sports developments involving local teams: “What a game. Congrats to our @steelers for an epic win of the AFC North and making the playoffs. Excited to see both Pennsylvania teams in the post season.”
Senator McCormick has previously focused on issues related to government accountability and public health crises during his tenure. Fraud within Medicaid programs has been a recurring topic among lawmakers nationwide as oversight agencies report significant losses each year. The senator’s mention of synthetic drugs such as fentanyl and nitazenes aligns with growing concern about their impact across Pennsylvania and other states.
