Senator Dave McCormick, a U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, shared his views on international security and local economic development in a series of posts on April 10, 2026.
In an early morning post, McCormick commented on diplomatic efforts in the Middle East: “I’m grateful Israel and Lebanon will meet to negotiate Hezbollah’s disarmament and the normalization of relations between Beirut and Jerusalem. Israelis deserve to live free from Hezbollah rockets. And the Lebanese people deserve a future free from Hezbollah and Iran’s tyranny.” (April 10, 2026).
Later that day, he highlighted manufacturing growth in Pennsylvania: “Great to see @Victaulic growing in Tioga County and creating more good-paying skilled jobs right here in Pennsylvania. This is what American manufacturing strength looks like, and PA is leading the way.” (April 10, 2026).
Addressing foreign policy concerns regarding Iran, McCormick wrote: “Don’t be distracted by headlines or market swings. The Iranian regime has a long record of deception. What matters is this: our strategy has weakened their military and made clear the choice before Tehran. There is a path to peace—but only through real, verifiable change.” (April 10, 2026).
McCormick’s background includes service as a captain in the 82nd Airborne Division during the First Gulf War and roles as CEO of Bridgewater Associates and FreeMarkets. He also served as under secretary of the Treasury and deputy national security advisor (official website). He grew up in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania as the son of educators and holds advanced degrees from Princeton University and West Point (official website).
