Concluding his first year in office, Senator Dave McCormick has released his inaugural Annual Letter to Pennsylvanians. The letter serves as a performance report, outlining progress on commitments, ongoing challenges, and priorities for the coming year.
“As my first year in the United States Senate ends, I wanted to try a new way of reporting to my constituents that reflects the accountability I embraced in the private sector,” said Senator McCormick regarding his first Annual Letter. “I am the 54th Senator elected from Pennsylvania and the ninth Senator in American history to graduate from West Point. To hold this seat at such a consequential moment for our country and for the Commonwealth is the honor of a lifetime. I owe it to my fellow Pennsylvanians to give an honest assessment of the first year and to keep listening to their feedback.”
Before joining public service, McCormick worked as a CEO where he relied on regular shareholder reports and performance assessments. He also served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, participating in after-action reviews focused on identifying successes and areas needing improvement. These experiences have influenced his approach to accountability as a senator.
“Accountability has always been the standard I hold myself to,” said Senator McCormick. “Whether in uniform or business, results were measured honestly and regularly. The people of Pennsylvania deserve the same standard. This letter is how I report back on what I’ve delivered, what remains unfinished, and what I see as the path ahead.”
The Annual Letter features McCormick’s reflections on establishing an active presence across Pennsylvania, creating a culture of service for constituent casework and communications, fulfilling promises made at the start of his term, setting ambitious goals for significant change, lessons learned during his first year, areas needing improvement, and key focuses for next year.
