The 29th annual Sporting Clays event raised $87,054 to support the Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. The event took place on April 5 at the Hummelstown Field and Stream Association, where participants navigated a course and aimed at clay targets designed to mimic the flight patterns of game birds.
Organized by the Facilities Department at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and friends of the Medical Center, this event has over the past 29 years raised more than $2.2 million. The funds are used for pediatric services, life-saving equipment, research, and educational resources at the Children’s Hospital.
This year welcomed Miracle Champion Gannon Kupko, Jr., an 11-year-old who has faced health challenges including prematurity, chronic lung disease, seizures, and Very Early Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease (VEO-IBD). Gannon and his parents, Gannon Sr. and Jennifer, thanked the Children’s Miracle Network events for their support, highlighting the importance of these initiatives in providing children like him with the “#GiftofGrowingUp.”
