FOIA Request to PA Municipal Retirement System Regarding Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Dauphin News have sent a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., specifically targeting the pension rosters for the year of 2023.

The requested records include a list of all active employees and retired employees within the organization's pension fund for the said year. The data fields requested encompass last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary, compensation type, amount, year and process date. Additionally, information regarding last disbursement amount, disbursement frequency and the contribution amount for 2023 was also sought.

We believe that access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information as a media organization, we have also requested for a fee waiver as a media professional.

Stay tuned to Dauphin News as we continue our pursuit of transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
