Grant funding amounting to $3 million has been allocated to various community development projects in the 88th Legislative District, as announced by Representative Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland). The funds are distributed under the state's Local Share Account (LSA) and Public School Facilities Improvement Grant (PSFIG) programs.
"The LSA and PSFIG programs support a wide range of community projects," said Delozier. "These state grants provide significant savings to municipalities and school districts while facilitating needed community improvements and other key revitalization efforts that benefit residents."
Delozier emphasized the local investment of LSA grants, which are funded by state gaming revenue. She expressed satisfaction with the collaboration with the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) on these initiatives. "I was also glad to support and advocate for our public schools by securing awards that cover project expenses for Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technology Center and Mechanicsburg Area Middle School," she added.
The specific allocations for the 88th Legislative District include $575,000 for New Cumberland Borough's Link 4 Youth skatepark, $457,466 for Lower Allen Township's Peyton Walker Foundation to acquire Automated External Defibrillators, $500,000 for Mechanicsburg Borough's center square revitalization, and $148,225 for Greenlight Operation's transportation services.
Additionally, PSFIG awards include $330,000 for HVAC system upgrades at Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technology Center and $1 million for HVAC improvements at Mechanicsburg Area Middle School.
The CFA approved the funding. It is an independent agency responsible for overseeing program funding related to Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
