State Representative Sheryl Delozier, serving the 88th Legislative District in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, has announced a free document shredding event for local residents. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. It will take place in the parking lot of the Hampden Township Pool located at 5001 Hampden Park Drive in Mechanicsburg.
Delozier emphasized the importance of securely disposing of documents that contain sensitive personal information. "I am glad to be offering another opportunity for constituents of the 88th District to safely dispose of documents containing personal information fraudsters are looking to obtain, like Social Security, credit card numbers and more," she stated. She noted that these events are consistently well-attended and expressed her anticipation of meeting many community members while providing this service.
The shredding event has specific guidelines: it is limited to residential customers only and each household may bring up to four boxes or bags of documents. Participants are advised to remove paper or binder clips before attending; however, staples are allowed.

RSVPs help provide an accurate headcount for the shredding company to prepare for high capacity. The shredding will occur on-site and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
