State Representatives Sheryl Delozier and Thomas Kutz, along with Senator Greg Rothman, are organizing a community-wide document shredding event. This initiative is aimed at residents of Hampden and Silver Spring townships within their respective House and Senate districts. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., taking place at the former Park Inn by Radisson located at 5401 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg.

The legislators encourage local residents to utilize this complimentary service. "Tax season is underway, making it a great time to safely dispose of paperwork containing private and personal information that could be used by fraudsters looking to obtain passwords, Social Security numbers and other sensitive information," they stated. They expressed their satisfaction in offering this service to the community and acknowledged the support of sponsors Pennsylvania American Water and Cumberland Valley Insurance.

Residents participating in the event are advised there is a limit of five boxes or bags per household. Certain items will not be accepted for shredding, including pre-shredded paper, three-ring binders, plastic materials, carbon paper, metal objects, food wrappers, and blueprints.

For further inquiries regarding the event, residents can contact Representative Delozier's office at 717-761-4665, Representative Kutz's office at 717-975-2235 or Senator Rothman's office at 717-787-1377.
