In an initiative to enhance identity protection, Representative Joe Kerwin of Dauphin County is organizing a shredder event. Scheduled for Saturday, June 10, the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Houck Manor Park in West Hanover Township.

"Identity theft is a serious crime that is often overlooked," stated Kerwin. "We all need to be proactive in protecting our identities and shredding documents with personal identifying information is an important step."

Residents of the 125th District are encouraged to bring documents containing sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, bank account details, or credit card numbers for disposal. The service will be provided free of charge.

Attendees are reminded that each household can bring up to four boxes or bags of paper. Participants should remain in their vehicles while staff members handle the unloading process. The event is exclusively for residents; businesses are not permitted to participate.
