The office of state Representative Joe Kerwin has announced that two projects in Dauphin County have been awarded a total of $330,000 in state grant funding. The funds come from the Commonwealth Financing Agency (CFA) as part of its Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.

The first project to receive funding is the renovation of the community pool in Dauphin Borough. The Dauphin Middle Paxton Joint Park Authority has been granted $250,000 for this purpose.

Additionally, West Hanover Township has been allocated $80,000 to conduct a study on potential trail network connectivity throughout the township. This study aims to identify optimal routes to enhance accessibility to local outdoor recreation sites for residents.

"The goal is to determine the best route to provide connections throughout the township," stated an official release regarding the trail network study.

This initiative by the CFA supports projects related to planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and repair of greenways, recreational trails, open spaces, and parks.
