State Rep. Joseph Kerwin | Pennsylvania 125th Legislative District
Rep. Joe Kerwin of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, announced his imminent deployment to East Africa with Task Force Paxton, 2nd Battalion-112th Infantry, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Kerwin stated that the task force comprises "Pennsylvania’s citizen soldiers," including his brother, Cpt. Jack Kerwin. He expressed pride in serving alongside these soldiers amid global security concerns.
Kerwin has been a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 11 years and holds the rank of captain. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Leaders Course and Army Ranger School among others.
During his deployment, Kerwin's district offices will remain operational to provide constituent services. He assured residents of uninterrupted service due to his experienced staff's dedication. "I have a seasoned and highly motivated staff with a combined 60 years of experience," he said.
The deployment will last several months with operations focusing on securing American assets in East Africa against terrorist threats. Kerwin highlighted the readiness and commitment of National Guardsmen like himself who are prepared to serve when called upon by their nation.
House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler commended Kerwin's dedication and promised support for continued constituent services during his absence. "Joe Kerwin represents the best of Pennsylvania," Cutler stated, assuring resources would be available for constituents during this period.
