President Donald J. Trump is set to attend the inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit organized by Senator Dave McCormick in Pittsburgh on July 15, 2025. The event will be held at Carnegie Mellon University and aims to highlight Pennsylvania’s role in advancing energy and artificial intelligence sectors.
Senator McCormick emphasized the significance of Pennsylvania in the realm of American energy dominance. “There’s no question that the path to American energy dominance runs directly through Pennsylvania, and this Summit will celebrate all our Commonwealth has to offer,” he stated. He noted that leveraging Pennsylvania’s unique assets could stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and enhance national security.
The summit is expected to gather leading figures from energy companies, AI platforms, global investors, and labor leaders to align with President Trump’s agenda for expanding America’s energy potential. “Together, we can usher in a new age of energy production and power the AI and technological revolution,” McCormick added.
Trump’s visit follows Amazon’s announcement of a $20 billion investment in Pennsylvania for data center campuses in Luzerne and Bucks Counties, marking it as the state’s largest economic development project. This investment complements a recent partnership between Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel worth $14 billion aimed at boosting domestic steel production capacity while securing thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania is positioned as an ideal location for technological innovation due to its natural gas resources, skilled workforce, abundant water supply, proximity to major population centers, and renowned research institutions. In a recent opinion piece for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, McCormick expressed optimism about the U.S. Steel-Nippon partnership’s potential benefits for both Pennsylvania and America.
