St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral welcomes everyone to attend Lent and Holy Week services. Join us as we prepare with joy for the great feast of Easter, with prayer, worship and contemplation.
Season of Lent & Palm Sunday
St. Stephen’s will observe its usual schedule of Saturday evening and Sunday morning services throughout Lent. Saturday evening services begin at 5 pm and their musical style varies a bit from week to week. Sunday Holy Eucharist service times are 8:00 AM (spoken service) and 10:15 AM (choral service).
- First Week in Lent (March 5/6): Holy Eucharist and the Great Litany
- Second Week in Lent (March 12/13): Holy Eucharist service
- Music for St. Patrick’s Day by Seasons (free concert on March 13 at 4 pm).
- Third Week in Lent (March 19/20): Holy Eucharist service
- Forth Week in Lent (March 26/27): Holy Eucharist & Rose Sunday
- Fifth Week in Lent (April 2/3): Holy Eucharist service
- The Week commemorating the Passion of Christ: Palm Sunday (April 9/10): Blessing of the Palms and Holy Eucharist (outdoor procession at 10:15 AM service, weather permitting).
St. Stephen’s will observe Holy Week with daily services that are centered on the passion and death of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
- Monday, April 11 at 7:00 PM: Compline (Night Prayers) with Taize Chant.
- Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 PM: Quiet Service with Holy Communion.
- Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 PM: Shadow & Verse: A Poetic Tenebrae Service.
- Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 PM: Maundy Thursday service with foot-washing.
- Friday, April 15 at 12:00 Noon: Good Friday
- Friday, April 15 at 7:00 PM: Solemn Good Friday service
