PwC introduces Cloud for Legal

PwC this week introduced Cloud for Legal, a first of its kind set of industry cloud solutions powered by Microsoft Azure, that enables law departments to make smarter and more informed business decisions at critical moments.

"Cloud for Legal provides proven and easily accessible capabilities that help organizations increase the pace of innovation and unlock the potential of data to decrease the cost of providing legal services, make data-driven legal and operational decisions, and create elevated experiences for all stakeholders. " said David Cambria, head of legal transformation programs at PwC.

As law departments are moving towards real digital transformation, identifying the right modern technology can be challenging as well as expensive, and many organizations likely lack the internal resourcing and expertise to assess, build, and deploy their own solutions. Cloud for Legal addresses those challenges by helping Clients to leverage existing technology investments along with PwC’s legal industry and technology expertise. With the Microsoft Cloud and PwC’s proprietary solutions as its foundation, PwC and Microsoft are helping law departments work more effectively, efficiently and strategically by helping make sure legal functions have the appropriate systems and processes in place for their specific needs and goals - today and into the future.

With Cloud for Legal, law departments get a trusted advisor, by working with clients to analyze and assess business and technology needs. PwC will recommend the most appropriate legal technology solutions for their business, connect and configure systems, and leverage proprietary PwC legal technologies, including a legal data lake, intelligent automation, legal natural language processing (NLP), and other AI-powered legal solutions, all of which are built on the Microsoft Cloud, to help clients extract even more value from their existing technology investments and law department’s operations.

Cloud for Legal is powered by Microsoft Azure, Data Lake Storage, Cognitive Services, Power BI and Power Platform, and provides an operating architecture to deploy automation and AI at scale across a spectrum of applications, through a core of experienced professional and broadly accessible easy-to-use tools enabling companies to innovate and transform service delivery in the legal sector.

“The legal industry is increasingly complex, with changing laws and regulations driving higher costs and longer hours. Solutions such as PwC’s Cloud for Legal, powered by the Microsoft Cloud, will help arm law departments with a powerful set of tools to streamline operations, create innovative new solutions and drive down costs associated with legal services. We’re happy to work alongside PwC as they continue to lead the way in this field,” said John Montgomery, CVP AI, Microsoft.
