Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) has revealed that over $3.6 million in funding has been approved for significant water and wastewater improvement projects, as well as arts and culture initiatives, in the 46th District. These grants aim to enhance the communities within the district by investing in critical infrastructure and promoting cultural development.
Bartolotta expressed her enthusiasm for the funding, stating, "This funding will enhance our communities in so many ways, by investing in critical infrastructure and places that expand our horizons and teach us about our history. It's truly a gift that will benefit so many people."
The funding was awarded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) and allocated through the H2O and Small Water and Sewer (SWS) programs. The H2O PA program, established by the General Assembly in 2008, provides grants for the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer projects. It also supports the construction or renovation of flood control projects, as well as the repair or rehabilitation of high-hazard unsafe dams.
The SWS Program, on the other hand, offers grants for small water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure projects. Municipalities and municipal authorities that own and maintain a public water supply, sanitary sewer, or stormwater system are eligible to apply for these grants as long as their projects exceed a total cost of $30,000.
In addition to the water and sewer grants, funding was also awarded through the PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program (PACR). This program aims to support nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts, and arts and culture professionals in their recovery efforts following the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants will help ensure the stability and recovery of the state's arts and culture sector.
These grants will have a significant impact on Greene County and Washington County within the 46th District. The funds will be utilized for essential water and wastewater improvement projects, benefiting the communities and residents in these areas.
With these grants, Sen. Bartolotta is demonstrating her commitment to improving the infrastructure and cultural sector of the 46th District. The funding will not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also contribute to the economic growth and development of the region.
