Delozier to Host Scam Jam for 88th District Residents

HARRISBURG - Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) is organizing an event called Scam Jam for residents of the 88th Legislative District. The aim of the event is to educate individuals on how to avoid common scams that can impact their financial well-being. Scam Jam is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lower Allen Township building in Camp Hill.

Delozier expressed her excitement about partnering with the Department of Banking and Securities to bring Scam Jam to her district. She acknowledged that fraudsters constantly evolve their tactics and emphasized the importance of educating and empowering people to make informed decisions and prevent falling victim to scams.

Scam Jam is presented in collaboration with the Department of Banking and Securities' Investor Education and Consumer Outreach office. The event will feature presentations from various organizations, including the Department of Banking and Securities, AARP, the Cumberland County District Attorney's office, Camp Hill and Lower Allen police departments, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

One of the activities at Scam Jam will be Fraud Bingo, an interactive presentation that teaches consumers how to protect themselves from fraud while playing bingo. Participants will learn how to detect fraud by identifying scams affecting their own city or town, as well as techniques to safeguard themselves from financial abuse. Light refreshments will be provided.

Seating for Scam Jam is limited, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP with Delozier's office to secure their spot at this free event. In the case of snow, the event will be rescheduled for the following day, Thursday, Feb. 8.
