HARRISBURG – Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) today announced multiple school districts across the 88th District received grants from the School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) to improve safety, security, and mental health support.

"I am glad to see several school districts in the 88th receive these grant dollars," said Delozier. "Making sure our students are safe and have strong mental health support will improve the quality of their education. This funding will be put to good use and help our students achieve their potential in school and beyond."

"As a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s board, I appreciate the work of the staff, as well as the members of the committee, for doing the work necessary to distribute these funds."

The SSSC collectively approved $155 million in federal and state school safety funding, appropriated in the FY 2023-24 budget, under various programs aimed at enhancing school safety and mental health support.

The following school districts that serve students in the 88th District received awards: Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical School, Cumberland Valley School District, Mechanicsburg Area School District, St. Joseph School, and West Shore Christian Academy.

Questions about these awards can be directed to Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
