FOIA Request Sent to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Dekalb County on September 26, 2024, by us at DeKalb Times. The request pertains to vendor payments made by the county from the start of the year until the date of the request.

The records requested include a comprehensive list of all payments made to vendors during this period. Specifically, we have asked for details such as the name of the vendor, the date of each transaction, a description of what each transaction entailed, and the amount paid in each case.

As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We are hopeful that our status as members of the media will qualify us for a fee waiver in obtaining these records. We continue to stand firm in our commitment to serve our readers with accurate information about how their local government operates.

Should there be any questions or clarifications needed regarding our request, we remain open and ready for dialogue.
