A $1 million grant has been awarded to West Hanover Township, announced Rep. Joe Kerwin of Dauphin County. The grant is part of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) and will aid in centralizing township services such as public works, water and sewer authority, and buildings and code enforcement.

The funds are designated for constructing a new municipal complex aimed at consolidating these services. "Bringing these services under one roof will allow the township supervisors to reduce their maintenance costs and eliminate duplication of services," Kerwin stated. He emphasized the importance of efficient government service delivery by saying, "It is always important to ensure government works for the people, so a central location will benefit those who live and work in West Hanover Township."

RACP grants are intended for projects involving design, acquisition, and construction that enhance regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, or historical assets. These grants are managed by the Office of the Budget.
