More than $2 million in grants from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program have been allocated to enhance parks and open spaces in Pennsylvania's 125th District, as announced by Representative Joe Kerwin. The funding, distributed through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, aims to support various recreational projects.
The grant recipients include Dauphin Borough, which will receive $530,000 for the rehabilitation of its community pool. Lower Paxton Township is set to benefit from a $257,500 grant aimed at developing Conway Park with facilities such as pickleball courts, pavilions, and play equipment.
Manada Conservancy has been awarded $481,000 to purchase 186 acres along Fleming Run Lane in Middle Paxton Township for passive recreation purposes. Additionally, The Nature Conservancy will receive $1 million to further its acquisition of 504 acres along Cemetery Road in Middle Paxton Township for open space and passive recreation.
"We are blessed to have beautiful parks and vistas in the 125th District," said Rep. Kerwin. "These latest projects will build on that legacy and provide outdoor recreation for generations to come. I am proud to support these important projects in our community."
