Harrisburg Gastroenterology, Ltd., is set to provide both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services at Penn State Health's Hampden and Holy Spirit medical centers beginning June 2. This strategic move aims to enhance patient access to essential medical services and procedures.

Kyle Snyder, president of Hampden and Holy Spirit medical centers, emphasized the importance of the agreement. “Gastroenterology services and procedures are in high demand," Snyder stated. "This agreement with Harrisburg Gastroenterology, Ltd., which has been serving the medical needs of central Pennsylvania for more than 40 years, expands access to high-quality, patient-centered care and innovative therapies.”

The partnership will introduce a team composed of ten board-certified physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. These professionals are trained to handle a range of gastrointestinal tract diseases, including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver, and colorectal cancers.

Harrisburg Gastroenterology, Ltd., will also offer advanced therapeutic endoscopy services. These services will support the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and address various benign diseases affecting the intestines, biliary, pancreas, and liver.

Through this collaboration, Penn State Health aims to offer advanced gastrointestinal care within the local community, marking a significant improvement in the accessibility and quality of regional healthcare services. This move is expected to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
