Senator Camera Bartolotta has announced the allocation of six Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants amounting to $10.7 million for Washington County. The funding aims to enhance tourism and stimulate the local economy through various projects.

Bartolotta stated, "Washington County is receiving an infusion of dollars to improve the educational, recreational and medical opportunities in the area. Nearly $11 million will make incredible improvements not only for residents; the funding is also expected to make the area more attractive to tourists, which will help local businesses as they patronize restaurants, shops and places to stay."

One significant project includes Cool Valley II in Cecil Township, which received $4 million. This funding will support the excavation and grading of 250 acres of forest land, along with infrastructure development such as water, gas, electricity, and road construction for a 900-acre multi-phased development project.

The Canonsburg Hospital Revitalization Plan secured $2.5 million. This grant will facilitate temporary relocation of helipad facilities during construction phases and include site preparation and new construction efforts.

A grant of $1.6 million was awarded to the Brockway Glass Site Development Project in Canton Township. This project focuses on redeveloping obsolete buildings into a commercial building suitable for warehouse/distribution or light manufacturing.

The Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute Renovations received $1 million for acquiring and renovating a campus that includes various facilities like a gymnasium and auditorium.

In South Strabene Township, an $800,000 grant will be used to enhance the Epi-Center at Tanger Outlets with indoor pickleball courts, basketball courts convertible to volleyball courts, among other recreational amenities.

Lastly, Four Points Brewery and Brew Pub in Monongahela obtained $800,000 for developing an interactive room and bottling company alongside a riverfront restaurant.

These RACP grants are administered by the Office of the Budget under state funding guidelines aimed at regional economic improvement projects.
