FOIA Request Sent to Dauphin County Election Department Regarding Voting Machines Testing Report on October 30, 2024

FOIA Request to Dauphin County Election Department Regarding Voting Machines Pre-Election Test Report on October 30, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Dauphin News have sent a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., to the Dauphin County Election Department. The requested records pertain specifically to the pre-election testing of voting machines used in recent elections.

We have asked for these records in electronic format, preferably PDF, with specific fields including the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether each machine passed or failed its pre-election test.

Our mission as a media organization is not only to gather and report news but also to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency for the public. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. As members of the media involved in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

We will continue our pursuit of this matter and update our readers as more information becomes available.
