Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier announced that the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has approved grants aimed at enhancing school safety and mental health support for seven schools in the 88th District. The initiative is part of a broader $120 million school safety grants program, as approved by the General Assembly in the 2024-25 state budget.

"I am glad to see seven schools in the 88th receive these important grant dollars," said Delozier. "Ensuring student safety and access to mental health support betters the quality of the education they receive. Safe schools where mental health services are readily available set up our students for success in the classroom and well beyond it."

Delozier, who serves on the board of PCCD, expressed her gratitude towards both the staff and members of the School Safety and Security Committee for their efforts in distributing these funds. She emphasized that funding for mental health programs remains a priority within her budget considerations.

The following institutions have been allocated funds: Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical School received $70,000; Cumberland Valley School District was awarded $285,395; Mechanicsburg Area School District obtained $185,568; West Shore Area School District secured $240,457; St. Joseph School got $17,500; West Shore Christian Academy received $75,000; Trinity High School was granted $3,520.

For further inquiries about these grants, individuals can contact Delozier’s office at 717-761-4665.
