DAUPHIN COUNTY: Electronics Recycling Temporarily Suspended

Suspended

Dauphin County issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.

Starting today, Dauphin County is temporarily suspending electronics recycling and closing its center for all in-person drop-offs until Monday, Jan. 4.

County officials opted to suspend in-person collections after the company that picks up recycled electronics announced it was shutting over the holidays, due in part to the coronavirus.

While the center at 1625 South Cameron Street in Harrisburg will be closed to the public, crews will continue collecting paper, plastics, and aluminum cans at the eight drop-off sites throughout the county.

The county’s drop-off sites accept cardboard; newspapers and inserts; magazines and catalogs; telephone books; plastic #1, #2 and #5 (numbers appear on the container’s bottom); and aluminum cans.
